Thanksgiving Countdown

Well, counting down the days until Thanksgiving break has officially started. I can't wait to see Nick. I love the holidays. I’ve been on a weird music kick, too. I’ve felt like I’m living in a rom-com or a fancy Italian restaurant because all I’m listening to is Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. It started when I was listening to music to potentially play at my wedding, and now I’m addicted. So weird, but it actually is such a cool vibe with the amazing weather, leaves changing, and getting close to finally seeing Nick. It’s built a fantasy in my head of Nick and me reuniting and dancing to this music after dinner one night over break. Again, super weird, but I love it.

Registering for classes went better than I expected. Compared to last semester, it was a breeze. I got into every class I needed or wanted except for strategic analysis, but it’s required to graduate, so now I’m in the process of getting it added to my schedule.

I had a weekend at home, and now I’m even more excited for Thanksgiving. Millie stayed at our house all weekend, and I’m so ready for Nick to see her after being gone for so long. The last time he saw her, she could barely walk, wouldn’t talk, and was still a baby. Now, she has full conversations and runs all around. She talked to him on the phone this weekend and wouldn’t give my phone back to me. She just kept saying “Nick” over and over again. He is going to love her. He’s always been amazing with kids. He worked at a summer camp all throughout high school, so he has a lot of experience with them. He isn’t great with babies, though; we’ll worry about that when we get there...

I am really over the semester. I don’t love any of my classes, I’m exhausted, and now that I know what my spring semester looks like, I just want to start that schedule now. Two Aggie classes, don’t have to get up early, and I get to prepare for Germany—couldn’t really get better than that.

Twenty days until I see Nick. It’s crazy how fast this semester went, because each day feels like forever, but the weeks flew by. Seeing him is always a lingering thought in the back of my mind. He is brought up throughout this blog like 10 different times because that’s how much I think about it. The longest time we’ll ever be apart is almost over, and I’m so ready for it to end. He’s probably even more ready than I am because I’m so busy, and I can see our family, but he’s far away and just has football, really. Hoping these 20 days go fast.

  1. Loved this! Counting down to Thanksgiving break is so relatable, and the Sinatra/Dean Martin soundtrack is perfect for the season. Hope these 20 days fly by for you both!

  2. Obsessed with Sinatra! I love it! So excited you get to see Nick so soon. That must be hard. You need to make a wedding playlist and share it with the class ;)

  3. I am also very excited to head home for the holiday. After going back home for two days I am more than ready to spend an extended time there. My spring schedule is kind of mid and unlike you I think 2 Aggie classes could be the death of me lol.
