Fall
Fall is easily my favorite season. The vibes are immaculate and unmatched by all other seasons. I can begin wearing my favorite outfits, layering sweatshirts and slipping my feet into comfy boots. My favorite drink is pumpkin coffee. I love watching the leaves change and fall. Fuzzy blankets, pumpkin candles, football games—truly the best time of year. Thanksgiving is also the best holiday for my family. It kicks off the holiday season; the food is always divine, and it’s always the most needed break from school. There is only one downside to fall: I have never spent a fall with Nick.
Since he has football, he is never able to come visit, and he is always in Rhode Island for nearly the entirety of the season. This is why Thanksgiving break is so needed. We spend fall apart and count down the days until the break begins and we reunite in our favorite weather to watch our favorite sport with our favorite people. We consistently dream and draw up what our first fall together will look like. Having our first couple’s Halloween costume, cuddling up for Sunday night football, and just being able to enjoy our favorite season together is something we are definitely looking forward to.
This fall in particular, I miss him more than ever. While we aren’t engaged yet, we have started to talk about the wedding, which has put me in a sappy mood. I’m starting to create playlists for songs we want to play during dinner, cocktail hour, and the reception. If it were up to just Nick and me, we would elope the day after graduation. However, my parents have a different vision in mind, and since they are paying for it, we will do what they want. I’m not going to complain because I have been watching "Say Yes to the Dress" and "Four Weddings" with my mom since I was five. She kind of created that dream early. So now, we have begun planning our extravagant black-tie wedding. Well, my mom has.
I am so excited to look forward, and when people ask me why I want to graduate early and get out of Ada, it’s because I have so many milestones to anticipate.
I would also have to agree with fall being my favorite as well. The weather is unbeaten and who does not like football? Thanksgiving is definitely underrated. I know you are egar about leaving here but I think you'll miss it more than you think :).
