Rant Session
I can't believe I made it back from California! The trip for PRSSA ICON was full of fun, connections, and work. Being on the national committee is great, but it is a ton of work. Running the social media platforms is stressful. The large organization requires almost a post each day, which keeps me busy. The trip made me realize that I need to run for national president in March. I have done all this work, and if I don't run, it will feel like it was all for nothing. So, in March, before spring break, I'll be headed to Charlotte, North Carolina, with hopes of coming back as the new national president.
The time change completely messed me up. I still have not adjusted. When I got back to Ada on Friday, I slept until 4 p.m. and did nothing all day. I woke up with an annoying cold. I knew I would get sick during my October full of travel. The timing is unfortunate because I head to New York on Thursday morning. The New York trip is going to feel so short after being in California for such a long time. I’m happy about this because I am ready to finish this semester.
After this trip, I will need a serious break. I say that, and I know there will be a ton of work waiting for me when I get back. I am counting down the days until Thanksgiving. This semester has been kicking my butt. I have no idea how I have completed any schoolwork. My time is packed with work for organizations and clubs. My first wave of exams is over, and the next one is approaching too fast.
Only 34 more days until Nick and I finally get to see each other! I can't believe that it's only a month away. It feels like we moved in yesterday. I think Thanksgiving break will reenergize me for finals. I can't wait to register for classes next week! I am constantly looking ahead and am ready for some change next semester, so I will feel another step closer to the upcoming breaks and the end of a long semester.
I'm happy to hear ICON went well! Hopefully the semester keeps trucking along so you can have a great Thanksgiving break right around the corner. Almost there!
