Alpha Xi Exec
Yesterday, I officially became the 2025 vice president of membership for Alpha Xi. I still can’t believe it. This role means overseeing and managing recruitment for next year. My sister will be a freshman, and I can’t believe I’ll hopefully be the one to welcome her into the chapter. The process of applying for the position was stressful, so I’m extremely grateful it’s over and that everything turned out as I hoped. Truthfully, I called my mom and started crying happy tears after I received the news. Typically, things like this that aren’t necessarily in my control don’t go my way, so when I got the position I really wanted, I was so relieved.
You might be wondering how I’m going to manage all of this. Well, my spring schedule is lighter than it’s been in the past, so I should have plenty of time to balance everything. I’m also really excited about this position because it means I get to choose the outfits for every round of recruitment and the bid-day theme. This position also provides me with the opportunity to travel to the national Alpha Xi Delta recruitment conference called "The Workout" in June. Last year, it was in North Carolina, but this year’s location hasn’t been announced yet. I worked hard over the last year to earn my spot on the executive committee, so it feels great to see it finally pay off. Some of my closest friends also made the executive committee, and we’re all excited to work together to improve the chapter.
It finally feels like all the work I’ve been doing at ONU is starting to pay off. Getting ready to run for PRSSA national president, getting on Alpha Xi’s executive committee, going to Germany, and hopefully getting engaged soon are all things that contribute to this feeling of finally realizing all my hard work wasn’t for nothing.
Coming up, I’ll have joint executive committee meetings with the new and old committees. We also do a joint committee dinner before the official transition. I am so excited for this new role and the opportunities it provides!
Happy to hear that you got the position you wanted! I know sometimes extra stress can make it hard to get it excited about things. Hoping you have success in this position and enjoy every bit of it!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I’m so happy for you! I know you’ll be an amazing vice president for Alpha Xi. You’re incredibly hardworking, and even though you mentioned your class load will be lighter next semester, I’m confident you would have managed the role effortlessly either way. You’ve got this!
